Finding a topic is the crucial part of the whole scheme, this is what your site will be based upon and therefore you need to have an interest in it to spend the time righting about it. The best topics to chose are topics with a niche market which have not already been saturated. It is not a necessity to find this sort of topic, you can gain a decent revenue source from a saturated market but the rewards will not be as good. As long as the information you provide is of high quality you will be able to make your site a success.

As well as this instead of choosing a large topic base for example gardening try to focus on a segment in this, this may be a very small segment of the topic for example growing upside down tomato plants but there is less competition for this and the information you can provide will be of higher quality.

If you are stuck upon a topic area or you don't think you have any hobbies try to think of the things you do in a normal week you will be surprised with the amount of topics that can come up from this for example, Your Job? Can you write about an area within this? Or even write about your children activities or how you control.

Once you have an idea of the topic area have a look on Google, to the top right of the search results page will be stats telling you how many results have been found, browse through the first few and see how much competition there is. If you think the market is already saturated you may want to think of another topic but with high quality information and commitment you can make any site a success.
