Blogging
There are two methods we are going to discuss to get your content on the web, blogging and building a site. Blogging is the easier option of the two but is least rewarding and can be said to be saturated. Whereas a site is unique to you and your topic, it requires a little more work but financially speaking it pays of better.
What is a blog? A blog is most commonly referred to as an online journal or diary however nowadays blogs are based on almost every topic as long as they are updated regularly with new articles.
Assuming you have chosen to build a blog you probably want to gain money for very little work so although you can host your own blog with a domain name most blogs are hosted by third parties for free. The most common of these is Blogger, sign up for an account with them (www.blogger.com) and start posting your articles. Latter on we will talk about making money and integrating ads but for now just post your content.
In order to get the most revenue out of your blog I suggest having at least 10 articles and if you can try to add an article a week. The more often you write articles the more often people will visit your site and the more revenue you will gain. For example we will compare having 5 articles to 50 at the click rate of 5p a click.
5 articles getting 10 clicks a day = £75
50 articles getting 10 clicks a day = £750
However it is more then likely that as you post more articles users will read more then one increasing your revenue further giving you higher revenue per an article.
Blogging in a good way to get started on the web for little work however if you want to get a guaranteed income stream without having to post weekly blogs then you really need to develop into a website with a high search engine rank which will perform on its own once built up.
